Getting Started, Fees, and Forms

Getting Started

Often, we may experience hesitation about starting therapy.  I invite you to call me (202) 251-2884 or send me an email at to discuss any questions/concerns you may have about therapy.  If you like, we can schedule a free phone consultation to discuss your problems and goals for therapy.  During this consultation, I can share how I would work with you.  If I am not the best match for your care, then I can provide you with referrals.

My office hours are by appointment.  Appointments are available weekdays during standard business hours.  Please contact me to inquire about my availability.

45 minute session: $190
Fees may be reimbursable by insurance carriers. I will complete forms and documents necessary for you to submit for reimbursement. My billing statement has all the information required by most insurance carriers.  For your convenience, this form (INSBENEFIT. PDF) has a list of suggested questions for you to ask your insurance carrier to gather information about your coverage.

Why am I out-of-network?

For 7 years, I was an in-network provider with a few insurance panels.  During this time, I realized the treatment was often compromised by limits insurance companies would place on the work such as limiting the length of treatment.  Most importantly, I was concerned about the limits of confidentiality.  As a result, I chose to become an out-of-network provider.

The average price for a 45 minutes psychotherapy session in my zip code is currently $210.  As a courtesy to my clients, I charge less than the average amount and I also offer a sliding scale.  For more information on the costs of psychotherapy, please visit: . You can enter my zip code (20036) and the CPT code (90834) I use for a 45 minutes individual session.

I have a secure HIPAA-compliant client portal to complete paperless intake, submit payments, and access statements.  The client portal can be accessed HERE or with this url:

The following forms are for new clients.  Please print, complete and bring to your first session.
